April Mahfood is a Registered Dietitian who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University, graduating Magne Cum Laude.  She completed her dietetic internship and graduate school program through Texas A&M as well.  

 

April helped lay the groundwork for the bariatrics program at Christus Mother Frances in Tyler, TX, in 2002.  She worked for nearly 10 years instructing patients before and after surgery on effective ways to utilize their procedures for maximum success.  April had the privilege of walking a close family member through bariatric surgery and holds this patient population close to her heart.  Her patients love her personable and down to earth counseling style. 

April and her husband, Ben, have 5 children and live in Tyler, TX.  April is active in her church and school communities.  She enjoys reading, running, cooking and traveling with her family.
