Karrie Stutzman
Karrie Stutzman was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Karrie attended Penn State University and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences (Dietetics Option) and minor in Kinesiology. She completed her Dietetic Internship at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida. Karrie gained valuable experience during the internship working with a bariatric dietitian and veterans at the VA medical center. She then started her career at a long-term care/acute rehab center followed by gaining experience as an in-home dietitian for a grant-funded nutritional program targeting individuals with Type II Diabetes Mellitus.
These jobs stirred an interest in diet-related chronic conditions involving nutrition and weight management which led Karrie to pursue a career in bariatrics.
Karrie has worked for several years in a bariatric program and has a strong background in providing medical nutrition therapy for many nutrition-related health issues. Karrie also holds an NASM Certified Personal Trainer certification which has positively influenced her passion for setting individualized goals with patients regarding exercise and nutrition. In her free time, Karrie enjoys hiking and any excuse to hike in a new place, traveling, painting with water-color, and running.
