Monica Restrepo
Monica Restrepo grew up in South America and earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with a focus on molecular biology. After working several years in basic science research for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and MD Anderson Cancer Center, she found her true passion - helping others through evidence-based nutrition knowledge. She earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2016, and she has enjoyed serving patients as a dietitian with a strong focus on Bariatric surgery and weight management ever since.
Monica feels it is a huge privilege being a part of her patients’ health journey, guiding them through Bariatric surgery safely and successfully, and seeing them improve their health, regain their confidence, and getting back to the activities they enjoy.
In her time away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, being outdoors, and traveling, especially if it involves scuba diving in the ocean.
